I bought my wife two of these feeders this season to hang on the front porch of our log home.They are the best looking feeders I've seen for ourdecor, BUT they both leaked like a sieve.I ended up sealing around the base with tub caulk, but it didn't stop the leak for long.And after a couple months of use they began to fall apart.I would definitely NOT recommend these feeders.

I would highly suggest you DON'T buy this feeder if you want to attract AND FEED hummers. It is just too delicate, cannot withstand any wind, cheap hooks and hummers have a difficult feeding from it because the holes are hard for them to find.I have scads of hummers in my yard in the summer and they don't like this feeder(they will go to my other feeder and avoid this one).They like my strawberry feeders best and my larger red feeder with yellow flowers on it because they can see where the flowers are and they like to sit down.So two thumbs down on this feeder.

We purchased this bird feeder for the triple tube and the bottom that would catch falling seed. We live in Oklahoma where it's windy most of the time. The green plastic lid does not lock and therefore it does not stay on. We have picked it up from the ground several times. The wind blew the feeder off the hook that we hung it on and the feeder broke. This is the second feeder we've had like this and are now looking for something that will hold up better. It looks great and even has a perch for the birds but it is horrible.If you have it PERFECTLY upright its ok but if there is a little breeze or any movement the nectar comes POURING out of the bottom tray which in turn causes ants on your deck which then causes ants in your house!I ended up buying a not so attractive feeder for $6 and I have never had so many hummingbirds at my feeders before.

The sturdy metal thistle sock feeder will outlast the sock feeders we previously used, and replaced,
once the squirrels tore open large holes in the mesh material in the sock and wasting the seed.
Looks very nice extended from our deck (over the ground) on a pole that attaches to the deck rail.
Once this feeder is filled with thistle feed, it will be fairly heavy, so make sure you have a secure
connection to whatever you hang it from. It took the variety of birds who frequented our feeders a few days to figure out that this new feeder had replaced the sock feeders, and had thistle seed in it....but now we frequently see numerous birds on it at a time. Very satisfied with the Woodlink Metal Thistle Feeder. There is a Woodlink sunflower seed feeder too, that is very nice, but make sure you order the correct feeder for the seed you want to use. Perky Pet FF10 10 inch Metal Finch Feeder, 1 lb capacity Review

I bought 2 of these to replace the sock feeders I have.
It took a day for the goldfinches to realize what it was.
I did shake the feeders a little so that some of the seed would stick out and placed them next to the sock feeders.After 24 hours the finches started to use it.It will hold about 20 finches at a time ( I have the large size) and they look beautiful next to the black metal.
It isn't difficult to see how much food is left if you look straight through the sides.You can also tell by the position of the birds on the tube.

Perky Pet 50301 Wren Home Cedar Birdhouse Review

Good news, bad news.
The good news: Yes, It is aromatic cedar wood.
The bad news: It's assembled in China with staples which tend to split the wood. The floor is of 1/8" lauan plywood material (a little stronger than paste board). The dimensions are totally wrong and misleading. The actual size of the bird house is 6.5" tall x 6.75" wide x 7.5" deep (that's measuring the roof, the actual house is 4.75" x 5.75")
Shipping: It is shipped with very little packing. Mine arrived with the top cracked down the middle from being crushed.

GLOBE BIRD FEEDER 6" Review

This is the third cling-a-wing bird feeder I've purchased over the years.I don't recall having difficulty assembling the others.The swivel cover for the seed receptacle is hard to move the first time.You need to FORCE it, which doesn't seem logical.And the metal bolt that holds the whole feeder together doesn't protrude from the bottom for the connecting nut to have a good "grab" on it.I ended up filing off some of the plastic around the bottom hole so that the bolt could stick out farther.Then I could get 4-5 good turns on the nut!Now it's fine.

Best 1 8 oz. Hummingbird Feeder Review

This is a small hummingbird feeder that would be great for those just trying their hand at attracting hummingbirds. It's inexpensive and easy to maintain, but most of all, the hummers love it! My wife and I have three hummingbird feeders: this one, a Schrodt - Crystal Single Etched Hummingbird Lantern, and another model with 6 tulip-shaped feeder holes. Though it's not one of the prettier feeders, the Best-1 is the one we paid the least for and it's the feeder they seem to prefer. There are no yellow flowers to attract yellow jackets, and they really seem to like to perch more on this one. Since it's a glass bottle design, you'll need a bottle brush to clean it well inside, but the lid pops off of the red base to make that part very easy to clean.

Older models of this feeder did not have the built-in ant moat (depressed ring around lid of base), so if you buy one locally, make sure it has that feature. With a small feeder like this one, you'll be filling it often enough anyway, so pouring a little water in that ring every few days is all it takes to keep the ants away.

Gardman BA01308 Four Bracket Feeder Stand Review

I cannot get it to stay up.Any amount of wind and it blows over and the stakes come out of the ground.I am going to have someone put a broom handle or something equivalent into the ground and put this over it. It is just not stiff enough to hold up.It is great for hanging feeders, etc.

Cardinal Classic Window Feeder Review

I didn't purchase this through amazon, but from a local garden store. This is a good, solid window feeder for being under 30 dollars. I've had it for about a month and there's been lots of birds, mainly Finches and Cardinals, coming to the feeder all day. They found it very quickly. It is a good size, several birds can come to it at once, and holds quite a bit of seed. The amount of seed it holds tends to keep it filled quite awhile, around five days, and since it sits on the tray, it cannot be kicked out or wasted. Other feeders i've tried the seed is gone in about one day.

The only drawbacks are that the feeder is large enough to hold nuisance birds such as Doves, Pigeons, etc, and the plastic on the back of the feeder can intrude the view of the birds sometimes, compared to other feeders...

BUT, I would definitly recommened this item.

We live in New Hampshire and cannot have most bird feeders in the summer because they will be destroyed by the black bears.This is the first bird feeder that we can hang high in a tree and not have it emptied by the local red and gray squirrels.Before we got this we tried the usual approaches:

Red pepper - Spraying the feeder with an oil and pepper mix didn't work.
Cage-type feeders - This works for gray squirrels, but any cage with a small enough mesh to keep out red squirrels will also block the birds.
Baffles - A regular feeder needs to be 8 feet from any branch or the squirrels will jump to it.This is impossible to arrange in most trees.

This Squirrel Scatter feeder is a very simple solution.We have it hanging on a branch outside our second-story window.It only takes one or two experiences with the shock from this feeder and even the most determined squirrel will leave it alone.Every now and then a squirrel will stop back and very carefully attempt to eat from the feeding ports.The mild shock immediately sends him scrambling away.The construction quality also seems quite good.Highly recommended.

Bird Quest SBF3G 17" Spiral Seed Bird Feeder - Green Review

I purchased one of these feeders a couple of years ago and the birds love it. I ordered another one last week and found that the company has re-designed the seed ports. Now all the seed rapidly pours out of the ports, wasting the seed. I attached one of the plastic trays to the feeder and the seed just piles up in mounds.I think the only seed mix that would work would be a jay/squirrel mix.

The Blue Bell Feeder Review

I just bought the third feeder of this type, for different locations, not because they needed to be replaced. These feeders live up to the claims--they are all metal and have stood up well to both squirrels and raccoons.Squirrels can get to the seeds, but they do not damage the feeder.Cardinals and finches are the most frequent visitors, but other feeder birds, such as chickadees and nuthatches also use it. My oldest feeder of this type has been in service for more than four years.They really do hold up and deliver the seed.

The only disadvantage to the design is the need to use two hands to fill the feeder since there's no support for the wire mesh body of the feeder.You have to hold the bail at the top and, with the other hand, open the top trap door and pour in the seed.At worst it's just a little awkward.

Some NO-NO feeders have a perch (metal ring) around the feeder, but this model has a tray.I prefer the tray because it keeps seeds from falling to the ground and provides more space for birds.

In my experience, this is an excellent feeder for backyard birding.

I got this about 5 months ago and for the first month to 6 weeks there wasn't a lot of activity.Then the birds found this feeder and started figuring it out.Now it's nonstop entertainment for me and my Jack Russells.Before this feeder went up, I'd never seen a bluejay around my house.Now I have 4 or 5 around all the time and they are so funny!Also, there's at least 1 ladderbacked woodpecker who's a frequent diner at the feeder.I suggest hanging this one away from other feeders becasue woodpeckers don't like a lot of traffic.It's fascinating to watch the jays arguing about whose turn it is and how savagely they attack the peanuts.One other bit of advice is to check the feeder when it appears to be about 40% full.You'll discover that all that's left in there are hollow shells.All the nutmeat has been pecked out!Also, squirrels are very intrigued by this feeder but they can't raid it like they do other feeders.It takes time and skill for them to get a peanut out, which means mega entertainment for the dogs!Enjoy!!!

The bird feeder arrived with numerous cracks in the plastic where the hanging mechanism is attached.Also, the spring that closes the feeder is much too rigid allowing, at its lowest setting, for even a heavy crow to land without closing. Obviously, I am not very happy with the purchase though it appeared to be a good idea. It needs much better quality control!
